Wednesday Wanderlust: ZhangJiaJie [Part 3]

Wednesday Wanderlust: ZhangJiaJie [Part 3]

The last part for the ZhangJiaJie trip is on Tianmen Mountain which has a road with 99 bends, 999 steps to the largest hole in the sky in the world, apparently, oh and glass bridges. For a person, like me, who is scared of heights, well at least I thought I was, that fear is slowly disappearing which is nice. Or maybe I'm just taking risks & not really thinking about it anymore.

After, what seemed like hours, of queueing, from one line to another, we got to the bottom of the mountain & drove up the cliffy road with 99 bends in a mini van full of people. I would probably say that was the scariest part of the whole climb because you weren't in control of the bus. After the bus ride, & a few selfies, it was time to climb up those stairs through the hole & onto the top of the mountain. The views were amazing of course, & once you're on top, it practically feels like a nice park that you walk around, but really high up.

The glass bridge wasn't scary at all. I thought I was going to freak out & start crying the way the videos on the internet show, but it's a really short walk & you're done. We took a cable car on the way down & the views were spectacular. The ride was pretty long but really soothing, so soothing that we nearly fell asleep. Once we got back down to the centre of ZhangJiaJie town, we searched for some local cuisine restaurant, which we found, & then made our way to the airport to finish off this amazing short but crazily adventurous trip.

All I can say, is that if you're ever in ZhangJiaJie, you  M U S T  see the Avatar Mountains & the Tianamen Mountain for sure!
