Feiyue - Journey in Red

Feiyue (飞跃 fēi yuè, translated as “Fly Over/Across” in Mandarin) is a local shoe brand which is admired & worn by the locals & foreigners. It first came into the scene in Shanghai, where it was born, back in the 1920s. They were made to be worn for sports such as Kung Fu due to their lightness & flexibility. Nowadays, they’re worn more as a fashion status than anything else. I bought my first pair of Feiyues around six months ago, and absolutely fell in love with them. They were a nice & lovely in red pair, & I’m going to share their journey through “shoe selfies”. They traveled & walked miles, in destinations such as Shanghai, Melbourne, Sydney & Byron. I got myself another lovely pair of classic whites, & their journey will be shared in a future post.

There are a few stores around the city of Shanghai, & these below are the most common ones. Shoes are also available to buy online on various sites such as TaoBao.
